School Portraits // Brown Kids 09.20.15

Today is the first day of Autumn, and I couldn't be more exited for boots, skinny jeans, scarves, sweaters, and cozy campfires! Once the cool weather is actually here to stay. As of today it still feels like summer. This is the beginning of my favorite time of year, and to kick it off I thought I'd share with y'all my siblings' school pictures. I took their school pictures last year, so of course that meant I had to take them this year as well. And of course I didn't mind, for as you well know I love any chance to use my camera. I'm so fond of these kids. Their behaviors and personalities differ on so many different levels, but I love them all the same. They each have so many distinct gifts and talents, and I'm so proud of every one of them! I've got to be the luckiest girl in the world, simply because I have the best family that ever was! Maybe I'm just feeling extra blessed right now, or perhaps I'm a bit biased, but I'm really thankful for each person in my family.

I can't believe how fast life passes by, because I remember us all being young and no near future of getting married and all that. Sometimes I wish I could go back and freeze time for just a little while, to enjoy those beautiful moments of being a kid again. One of our very favorite things to do as siblings was dance the Virginia Reel (you can see an example here). I miss those times greatly!

Anyway, enough nostalgia. We had a grand ole time at Mooresville's Pioneer Park getting the kids' pictures done, laughing and having fun as only siblings can. I specialize as a wedding photographer, but occasionally it's fun to do something different, and of course it's fun photographing my own siblings. At the very end of the evening we found some gorgeous light coming through the trees, which made the following magic happen.

Youngest to Oldest (still at home):
Liberty Joanne // Kindergarten
Clara Mae // 6th Grade
Robert "Reb" Edward Lee // 8th Grade
Maggie Joy // 9th Grade
Katie Lynn // 11th Grade
Kirstie Anne // Graduated

And before I was done for the night I snapped a few photos of my gorgeous mother. She truly is an awe-inspiring and breathtaking woman! I could go on and on about how she's my Titus 2 mentor and the best mother in the whole world, how she's always been the most self-sacrificing woman I've ever known, and that she's the matchless example of godly womanhood! She's absolutely amazing!
